What we do...
The Building Division is headed by the Building Official, Leonard Yarberry. Building Division functions include:
- acceptance, tracking and issuance of building, demolition, plumbing, mechanical permits and sign permits
- plan review to conformance to State adopted Building Codes
- comprehensive inspections of foundation, framing, plumbing and mechanical systems
- issuing Certificates of Occupancy
- code enforcement and archiving and record keeping of building permits and commercial plans
Our Mission is to ensure and promote life-safety in the City of Edmonds through the enforcement of building codes. In addition Building Division staff are part of the City's emergency operations team providing post-disaster inspections of buildings to determine they are safe.
