Greater Lake Ballinger/McAleer Creek Watershed Forum

All six local jurisdictions within the Lake Ballinger/McAleer Creek watershed have joined together through a written agreement to prepare a strategic action plan that will address issues related to water quantity and water quality within the drainage basin.  The cities of Edmonds, Lake Forest Park, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Shoreline and Snohomish County have agreed to language in an interlocal agreement that forms a Watershed Forum to guide the development of a Strategic Action Plan.

EDMONDS EGG HUNT

Kids, grab your Easter baskets – the Easter Bunny is coming to Edmonds!  Come fill your baskets and hunt for magical golden eggs that win special prizes!  You’ll be able to hunt with kids your same age!  Sponsored by Jack Perrault RE/MAX and Edmonds Parks & Recreation with support from Nama’s Candy Store, the Rotary Clubs of Edmonds and Snohomish County Fire District 1.   Held at Edmonds City Park, 3rd and Howell.  Please bring a nonperishable donation for the food bank and your Easter basket.  Kids hunt while parents take pictures!

SPRING BEACH CLEANUP and LOW TIDE WALK - FREE

Help remove litter from the shoreline of Edmonds Marine Sanctuary, and explore the beach during a -1.7 low tide with a Ranger-Naturalist!  Meet at the Visitor Station, Olympic Beach.  Wear your gloves and boots, we will provide the bags.  Individuals of all ages and groups are welcome to participate.  No registration is necessary.  Call 425-771-0227 for more information.

WATERSHED FUN FAIR &
HABITAT CERTIFICATION CELEBRATION - FREE

Get in on the fun at this annual family event and help celebrate the certification of Edmonds as a Community Backyard Wildlife Habitat!  There will be nature crafts, activities for kids of all ages and adults, speakers, guided nature walks, entertainment, face painting, free refreshments, and an “all-species” parade.  Co-sponsored by the Edmonds Backyard Wildlife Habitat Project and the National Wildlife Federation.  Yost Park is located at 9535 Bowdoin Way.  Call 425-771-0227 for more information.

The certification celebration continues on Sunday.
