The Community Services Department provides coordination
of interaction between City departments. It also coordinates the
City's capital improvement programs and provides special project
management, particularly in the initial stages.
On a larger scale, Community Services has an intergovernmental
role in areas that involve funding, legislation, and interlocal
agreements. The Department helps the Mayor's office coordinate regional
issues, such as planning activities with Sound Transit.
