For over 50 years it has been home to a large number of artists and arts organizations. A three-day arts festival, performing arts center, monthly artwalk, galleries, three ballet schools, a professional ballet company, a regional symphony and youth orchestra, two theatre groups, and over a dozen artists' cooperatives, clubs and guilds are all part of the arts in Edmonds.

Due to the variety of well-established community arts groups, Edmonds is the cultural hub of South Snohomish County.

Founded in 1975 to promote the arts as an integral part of community life, EAC takes a leadership role in providing a variety of art experiences that enhance public awareness of the arts and serves as an information resource for the arts community as a whole. Programs include Write on the Sound, a literary conference, free summer concerts in the park, visual art exhibits, arts assistance, and an extensive public art collection. to be-in-the-know about arts in Edmonds.

Edmonds Center for the Arts (ECA) in downtown Edmonds is the area’s newest performance venue and presents a full season of national and international performing arts events. The state-of-the-art facility in a renovated 1939 Art Modern building hosts an intimate 700-seat auditorium complemented by a stylish lobby with sweeping views of Puget Sound. ECA is home to Cascade Symphony Orchestra, Olympic Ballet Theater, Sno-King Community Chorale, and is also available for rentals.
